Planning is the only, let me repeat, the only way to achieve success. You cannot start building a house until you have drawn the plan. Same goes with life. If you don’t have a plan for your life, chances are you are just going with the flow, and who knows where that flow will take you. Jim Rohn once said: “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
So design the life you want. But remember, life is fluid, and the importance is planning, not the plan itself. As circumstances change you will have to adapt, but your ability to adapt will come from the fact that you planned ahead. Dwight D. Eisenhower once said that: “In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.”
